Under the general supervision of the certified nurse aide, charge nurse, administers general assistance to all residents. Observes and follows instructions of the nursing staff in line with an established routine, providing general resident care services to assure maximum possible resident well being. Job responsibilities include but not limited to passing ice, strip beds and replace with clean linen, answer all call lights, provide unskilled services, assist residents to and from necessary/desired locations, restock rooms and passing trays.

Job Qualifications
Education
- High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.
Licensure, Registry and Certifications
- BCLS

Experience
Prior Work Experience
- Entry level position
- One year in a long term care setting preferred
Technical Training
- Current CPR certification
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist with carrying out the Interdisciplinary Plan of Care for residents
- Assists residents with activities of daily living according to their Care Plans and MHCC Policies and Procedures
- Keeps the Charge Nurse informed regarding resident change of condition or other observations such as symptoms, reactions, or other changes in patient status
Administers direct bedside nursing care under the supervision of the Charge Nurse which may include:
- Reports any skilled needs to Certified Nurse Aide
- Assist residents to and from necessary/desired locations
- Beds are cleaned and made up properly
- Maintains residents dignity and privacy at all times
- Ensures residents are in safe environment to include lowering beds and clearing furniture path as needed
Provides assistance and performs support duties as needed
- Assists in maintaining a clean safe environment for residents, detecting and correcting situations that have a high probability of causing accidents or injuries to residents
- Understands the legal implications of not carrying out physicians’ orders correctly
- Recognized when a situation can not be handled alone and requests help from proper personnel when necessary
