Housekeeping Aide – (Hospital)

Performs duties involved in cleaning and sanitizing Hospital District facilities to include furnishings, decorum, equipment, and laundering materials not laundered by outside laundering service in accordance with established medical facility cleanliness standards.

Education

  • High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:

Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms and nursing floor areas

  1. Cleans bathroom, basin, and shower.
  2. Dusts furniture and dusts and wet mops floors.
  3. Stocks bathroom with toilet paper and paper towels.
  4. Cleans patient rooms after patient is discharged or transferred as stipulated in established procedures.
  5. Cleans day room, nursing stations, utility rooms, lounges, report and exam rooms.

Cleans assigned areas of the hospital district (departments/offices)

  1. Cleans furniture, fixtures, and hospital surfaces.
  2. Cleans floors by sweeping, dry or wet mopping, disinfecting, stripping, buffing, and waxing as necessary.
  3. Cleans carpeting by vacuuming and shampooing when necessary.
  4. Follows established cleaning schedule.
  5. Cleans walls, windows, doors, and ceilings.
  6. Empties and cleans waste receptacles and removes trash to a designated collection area.

Provides Linen Services

  1. Distributes par levels of linen daily as needed per departments.
  2. Collects soiled linen from departments daily and separates for laundry services.
  3. Washes and dries and processes hospital district uniforms on site as requested.

Collects Biohazardous linens and sharps containers.

  1. Collects biohazardous linens, trash (red bags), and small sharps containers for proper decontamination and destruction.
