• Proficient with computed radiography, digital radiography, PACS, EMR’s, teleradiology.
• Prior didactic and/or clinical training in CT, US, MRI, or Mammography preferred or must be willing to train in CT or other modalities.

Primary Responsibilities

RADIOLOGIC Technologist:

1. Performs diagnostic radiology procedures on patients under radiologist supervision.
2. Follows body substance isolation policies to include frequent hand washing and cleaning all patient contact surfaces after each patient.
3. Verifies orders for accurate patient, exam, diagnosis, and laterality.
4. Properly educates patients regarding procedure and all associated preparations.
5. Positions patient properly. (Maintains acceptable repeat rate 4-6 %.)
6. Modifies procedures according to patient age and pathology as appropriate.
7. Permanently identifies exposures prior to submitting (uses markers).
8. Processes Digital Detectors proficiently.
9. Maintains equipment, detectors, reporting problems to supervisor.
10. Transports patients to and from department within 15 minutes of order when possible.
11. Properly performs patient immobilization and transfer when needed.
12. Consistently wears personnel radiation monitor and consistently wears lead aprons/gloves/glasses when appropriate.
13. Assists other providers, physicians, and departments in a professional manner.
14. Participates in call and holiday schedules to include evenings, nights, and weekends.

IF also CT Technologist:

1. Performs computed tomography procedures on patients under radiologist supervision.
2. Properly inputs patient identification, scan indications prior to scanning patient.
3. Backs up patient scans to PACS or to CD-R.
4. Maintains equipment, power injector, and thermal printer, reporting problems to supervisor.

IF also US Technologist:

1. Obtains images as required by protocol manual for each exam.
2. Properly enters patient identification and exam information prior to study/ assists physicians in doing same.
3. Exports studies to PACS following each exam.
4. Maintains ultrasound equipment, gel warmer, reporting problems to supervisor.
5. Consistently wears gloves on scanning hand.

IF also MRI Technologist:

1. Obtains images as required by protocol manual for each exam.
2. Properly enters patient identification and exam information prior to study.
3. Exports studies to PACS following each exam.
4. Maintains MRI equipment, coils, injectors reporting problems to supervisor.
5. Consistently educates and ensures safety to the public from dangers associated with magnetic field.

IF also MAMMOGRAPHY Technologist:

1. Obtains images as required by protocol manual for each exam.
2. Properly enters patient identification and exam information prior to study.
3. Exports studies to PACS following each exam.
4. Maintains mammography equipment, paddles, peripherals reporting problems to supervisor.
5. Performs all regulatory QA and associated communication consistent with ACR, FDA, and MQSA protocols.

Secondary Responsibilities

1. Assists in scheduling exams, giving necessary prep information.
2. Assists in maintaining daily patient exam log.
3. Sends exams to Radiologist and scans in associated consents, questionnaires, worksheets, and reports.
4. Follows procedures for burning CD’s for patient transfer or DICOM Transfer, maintaining log of all imaging transfers.

Essential Functions

Primary Responsibilities
