The Accountant performs regular accounting duties like filing taxes and maintaining budgets for the District’s facilities. The Accountant works with the CFO to maintain the day-to-day financial aspects of the District to ensure financials are stable and compliant with all applicable tax and finance laws.

Location(s): Seminole Hospital District
Responsibilities:
The Accountant is responsible for maintaining correct financial information in the District’s financial system. This includes working with business office staff in Memorial Health Care Center, Memorial Assisted Living Facility, Fitness Center and nursing facilities with in the QIPP program.
Essential Functions:

- Create daily Cash Sheet and monitor bank accounts
- Review state sales taxes and other taxes prior to their filing
- Review monthly and/or adjusting journal entries
- Complete monthly reconciliation of the Balance Sheet and subsidiary general ledgers
- Assist with monthly and year end closing
- Create monthly financial reports
- Identify trends in data and report key findings
- Assist with annual operating and capital budgeting
- Assist documenting standard operating procedures
- Be backup for accounts payable and payroll
- Initiate billing and invoicing for non-patient care receivables
- Generate other custom reports (as required)
- Maintain and manage Chart of Accounts and department cost centers
- 1099 preparation
- Assist with annual audit and cost reports.
- Comply with internal controls, policies & procedures
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Work Requirements
High school diploma required
Associates Degree required
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
CPSI/TruBridge experience preferred
5 years previous bookkeeping or accounting experience

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
