13 Feb IT Generalist
The position of IT Generalist will provide support, maintenance, optimization of network services, devices, and communications systems. The IT Generalist will test, diagnose, and resolve network, server, workstation, and communication issues. They will be responsible for maintaining network systems, configuring devices, and responding to end user requests in accordance with the district’s policies and mission. This IT Generalist will be responsible for IT project management and end user operations.

Responsibilities
- IT Generalist will participate in planning, testing, implementation, and ongoing support activities.
- Working with management and staff to define problems and devise solutions, assist with work-flow analysis and process redesign.
- Performing diagnostics of network, software, and hardware issues.
- Assist with monitoring, maintenance, support, and upgrading of all IT infrastructure, network, and communication systems.
- Experience with virtualization and cloud computing desired.
- Understanding & implementing cybersecurity best practices & mitigation techniques.
- Educating end users on use of hardware, software, and cyber hygiene in an easy to understand format.
- Familiarity with Antivirus, spam blocking products and other threat mitigation products.
- Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting desktop PC’s, laptops, audio/visual components, servers, and networks district wide.
- Analyzing and working on and/or assisting with complex networking issues.
- Supports on-site and remote teams, as necessary.
- Assists with implementation and support of disaster recovery and backups.
- Recommends possible system changes to enhance overall system effectiveness based on identified needs and industry trends.
- Works with implementation team to ensure proposed changes to existing systems are successfully completed.
- Responsible for inventory management of workstations, phone devices, peripherals, printing maintenance items, ID badge items, and other technical hardware.
- Work with project stakeholders to develop requirements for tasks and projects.
- Works individually and as a team with help desk responsibilities to include ticket logging and archiving.
- Responsible for the timely assignment and resolution of incoming help desk support requests.
- Responsible for updating software and OS across the technical and networking environment district wide.
- Stay up to date on emerging technology and cybersecurity news.
- Performs other duties as required by director.
Required Education and Experience
- 2+ years supporting Windows environment.
- 1+ years’ experience supporting Office 365
- 1+ years’ experience with maintenance and management of IT infrastructure
- CCNA or Network+ certification preferred
- Project management experience
- Associate’s degree required.
- Bachelor’s degree desired.

- Technical knowledge of IT infrastructure, network, and communication systems including configuration, implementation, analyzing, troubleshooting, and repair skills.
Other Requirements
- Must be able to be on-call on a rotating schedule and able to respond to calls within 30 minutes, including after hours and weekends.
- Must be able to respond to occasional, sporadic call outs, either remotely or on-site, to assist other IT and Informatics staff with complex or critical callouts.
