10 Aug Speech Pathologist

Provides flexible, patient-centered evaluations and treatments for inpatient and outpatient populations in a rural hospital setting. Responsible for diagnosing swallowing, speech, language, and cognitive disorders, managing diverse ages and conditions, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary rural healthcare team on an as-needed basis.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• moderate periods of sitting/standing/walking
• pushing and pulling
• lifting/carrying >= 50 lbs.

• climbing
• kneeling/bending
• visual acuity
• hearing acuity

Responsibilities:

• Assess speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing functions
• Plan and deliver evidence-based therapy for adults and pediatric patients
• Performs or assist with modified barium swallow studies (MBSS) or FEES if qualified.
• Complete accurate clinical notes and billing records in a timely manner.
• Coordinate care with nurses, doctors, physical therapists, and family members.

Education and Experience Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• State license to practice speech-language pathology
• Current BLS/CPR Certification
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
• Previous medical setting experience preferred; comfort with a wide clinical scope in a rural environment.
