Biography

Seminole Memorial Hospital announced that Dr. Melinda Banister will be joining the hospital as Chief of Surgery, effective August 3, 2020. She will provide outpatient consultations in the Clinic two days days per week and performing surgery at least two days per week.

Dr. Banister completed her General Surgery Residency at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Lubbock. She is certified by The American Board of Surgery, is a Fellow of The American College of Surgeons, and certified in Advanced Trauma Surgery. General Surgical practice includes, but is not limited to, all intra-abdominal pathology & issues, breast, hernia, skin cancer treatment/removal, colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, wound care, and pediatric surgery.

In addition to her extensive experience performing in surgery in Lubbock, Dr. Banister has also provided surgical services to hospitals in Abilene, Alpine, Stanton, and Big Spring. She has conducted numerous research projects and has been the Principal Investigator in over 20 clinical trials. Please join us in welcoming Dr. Banister!
